Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford University have found another solution for achieving water purification that is related to solar disinfection. The team has discovered a nanomaterial that can kill 99.999% of bacteria in water within only 20 minutes, significantly improving on the standard model of purifying water through UV, which requires two days.
